The study of Accounting Standards is to equip learners with an aim to develop an understanding of issues that impact on the financial environment and reporting; to interpret and synthesize appropriate scenario data to prepare more complex financial statements; to communicate accounting information effectively to both accounting and non-accounting users of financial statements; and have an awareness of current accounting issues and developments. On successful completion of this unit, learners should be able to:

a) identify what the current and future regulatory framework for financial reporting, with the organisation’s data, and transactions correctly updated on the accounting systems.
b) analyse the relevant accounting standards and maintain awareness of changes.
c) identify the types of significant accounting issues.
d) acquire fundamental data for funding & financing from either bank, money lenders or financial backers
e) anticipate projected and month to month expenses & revenue
f) know their financial assumptions when asked upon by investors or financial backers
